Favorite Part of Swim Instructing: My favorite part of being a swim instructor is seeing the progression of new swimmers. Having swimmers that have a fear of the water turn into a love for the water is a great thing to witness. I love seeing their hard work pay off and knowing that I made a difference in the individual's life. I also love playing water games and showing the swimmer that fun and safety can work together.
Experience with Kids: I love working with kids! I was a camp counselor in high school and looked after camper's safety. In my first year of college I started working at the YMCA where I was a lifeguard and swim instructor for two years. I taught 6 month old babies to middle school aged teens. I also volunteered at my church's youth group and babysit for several close family friends.
Experience with Swimming: My experience of swimming starts all the way back when I was 10 years old. I learned how to swim in my community pool and then years later joined the high school water polo and swim teams. I continued through community college. I was a distance swimmer and earned different medals and awards. I then worked at the YMCA teaching swim lessons and I also worked at Mt. Sac teaching swim lessons.
